JUNE | BULLET JOURNAL

Finishing uni, tied into when I finish my A5 Leuchturrm bujo. Because I'm not going to be in uni or starting any teaching qualifications for a few years, I've decided to go for a smaller bujo. I've sized down to the A6 Leuchturrm in Navy Blue (here).

The basics of my spreads have stayed the same. But there are some changes, and it'll be interesting to see wherever or not the size of my bujo changes the way I use it.

April Goals.

April showers bring May flowers.

I know everyone else will be saying the same words, but where has the year gone? It's April, month four, a third of the way through 2018. whut.
I've spent February & March starting projects and just cruising through the weeks. But now April is upon us and I have a looming deadline, my own birthday (gulp), and I'll be starting the final half of my last semester in uni.

Anyway, here are some plans/goals for the month...

01. A holiday. At last. Sounds incredibly boring, but we're heading up to Cheddar tomorrow for a week. I've got my new swimsuit, I've got books to be read, I'm prepared to go full holiday mode in cold April - in England. In all seriousness, I'm so excited to have time off that isn't taken up by work -albeit I have a load of uni work to take with me.

02. Second-to-last deadline of the final year. My next deadline is the BIG one. From this point on, I'm putting my other project on the back burner and will be focusing exclusively on my professional practise module for a couple of weeks.

03. READ AGAIN. I am yet to finish a book in 2018, awful? I know. Normally I'm flying through my reading goals by March, but I haven't been able to commit to reading a whole book. So, while on holiday, I'm going to read a book. A whole book.

04. Using my days off (from work & uni) to meet up with friends more. When I do have time off, I forget to see people and collapse on the sofa for a day. So, I'm going to use my days off to have fun and see people I *actually* like.

05. Bullet Journal. I fell off the bandwagon last month, a mixture of stressing about what other people thoughts, trying to do what others were doing, and a lot of self-doubting. But I'm convinced that April will be the month for me. (There is going to be an extra blog post on Wednesday with my monthly spreads in! (UPDATE: I never wrote this post and went on holiday before remembering. Sorry. We will try again next month?)

Considering my deadline is on the 19th and I'm on holiday this month, I don't want to put too much pressure on myself. But here are some brief goals or plans for April.

All in all, an exciting and fast-paced month! What have you guys got planned?

March 2018 | Bullet Journal

Well, February flew by.

I have slightly fallen out of love with bujo-ing. I think it's mostly laziness and falling out of love with projects - not so much physical bujo. However, I've changed things around and have cut my spreads down to just two spreads this month.

Month on two pages

I need the monthly view, i'm a visual person and find it so much easier to balance my time when I can physically see what I'm doing each day. Instead of having Thursday squashed in the middle of the folds, i've split the week in half and have it neatly across two pages. There is some negative spaces beside Sunday, perhaps I'll leave it black (or, most likely, I'll use it for more list making).

Weekly spread

Weekly spread is new-ish. I've attempted them before, but this time I've got rid of the day restrictions completely. This spread is actually inspired by this video on youtube. At the top, I have the days of the week - the dots underneath show that I have an event/appointment that day (I check my monthly spread daily and, also, have my phone calendar to check). The below I have two lists: university and personal. Because I'm juggling two projects, it makes sense that most of my to do list would be dedicated to university and won't mix up watering the plants with a hand in date. (You can add more boxes for dedicated areas of your life, I just felt two was the perfect amount for me).

Then on the opposite page, I have an area to write my daily summary. And my habit tracker, I've carried on my habits from last month - out of laziness to think of something new.

For any extra lists, that I'll need that month, I'll carry them over the spreads on post-it notes (i.e. blog ideas).

That's it. I'm reaching the last 50 pages of this bujo, and am considering changing to an A6 bujo. Because I'm nearing the end of my uni course, I don't think I'll need my bujo to takes notes as much and an A5 might be less portable when I'm working and everything. I don't know though. Do you bullet journal? If so, what do you use?

2018/January Bullet Journal

What's that? January is almost over and I'm only now posting my January spreads?

I started this bullet journal in September, so this is my first time at creating a yearly spread of any type. I do only have 100 pages left in my bujo, so chose not to go too crazy with the yearly spreads.

I introduced some new spreads, some old spreads, and some reliable ones for January. I knew that I was going to be handing in my dissertation in the second week of January and, also, going away in the middle for a few days. I find that January isn't a productive month for me, and the changes happen in February when I get myself together.

2018 Introduction Page & Yearly Overview
Initially, I didn't put an annual overview in my bujo, I didn't feel that I would ever look back over it. However, it felt right to complete my yearly spreads with one and allows me to view the whole year -if necessary.

January/February/March/April month-to-a-page
I'm using these pages to write a brief line about what I have done that day. "Work (10.00-3.00)" "Uni" "Home Day. Washing. Tidy House".

2018 Resolutions
I find it really useful to have my goals/resolutions written down somewhere. I try to make seasonal resolutions. However, I find it helpful to have a 'master' list.

2018 Reading Challenge
At the start of my bullet journal, I have the running list of books I read/started in 2017. And this year I aim to read 30 books 'for fun' - not including any books for my university courses.

2018 Expenses
I'm going to *try* to track my income and outcome for 2018. I'm rubbish at physically following my expenses though. So I'm not holding out much hope for this spread.

Brain Dump
I cannot remember who I saw create a beautiful, minimal braindump spread. But they merely put the corresponding letter, to the area of their life, at the top and wrote master to-do lists!

January Introduction
I love a monthly introduction page, This month I've made a little monthly calendar, wrote down five goals for the month, and a word to guide my month. I want to have a word for every month, to help me focus and work towards something for the month ahead.

30 Days of Yoga
One of my goals is to do 30 yoga practices in January, so I created a little tracker to help me follow along with Yoga With Adriene's January practice.

Monthly Spread
I always create the same monthly spread. I find it really useful to see the month as a whole and refer to it almost daily.

Moodboard
I haven't created one yet. However, I love the use of mood-boards in petite_glooms bujo spreads. Also, thinking about changing to the A6 leuchturrm after this one - heavily inspired by her gorgeous bujos.

Gratitude Log
I have worked on gratitude logs on and off throughout my bujo's, but January feels like a month where I will be able to keep up to date with it. And have a lot of goals and time to be grateful for.

Driving Tracker
I'm really struggling to drive. Not the physical driving, but having a reason to drive. It's horribly expensive for me to drive to uni. I live walking distance from the local shop. And all my friends live in cities or close enough for me to walk. So I'm going to attempt to write down where I drive to, and this will hopefully encourage me to drive more for fun?

Social Media Log
I'm fairly active on social media. Especially my personal Instagram account (here), but I tend to forget about my Photography account (here) and - don't laugh - my dogs account. So to pay more attention to when I upload, I'm going to jot down when and what for January.

I'm playing around with how I create weekly/daily spreads. So haven't chosen to include any in this post. I have not used a habit tracker this month, and am working on including them in my weekly/daily spreads instead.

September Favourites

01) Bullet Journal
I have used the bullet journal system before, but this time I'm taking it *really* seriously. I have loved using the system throughout September, and into early October, especially being able to start a new one at the start of the academic year. (Although I didn't go back until the last week in September). I've got more blog posts planned; going through my monthly spreads, academic, etc - any requests, send them my way! I'm also loving the grey leuchtturm 1917 (here).

02) Mildliners
I gave into the hype. I kept seeing them all over bujo blogs and Instagram pages. What finally got me to buy them was watching Rhiannon's video (here) and her linking to an Amazon page where you could get three packs for about £15 (here). I bloody adore them. I use them daily and cannot get enough of the pastel tones. I did not need them, but they're so handy. Especially because they have a felt tip at one end, and a highlighter tip at the other.

03) Hair Serum
I was trying to think about what new 'things' I had used this month, and I kept going back to this hair serum (here). It was SUPER cheap from Superdrug (own brand, so vegan/vegetarian AND not tested on animals), and it does the job! I use it when I'm going to wave/curl my hair, and it just makes them look sleeker and more defined. I use two pumps in my medium-long length hair (mostly on the ends of my hair) - bringing any excess up to the rest of my hair. This range was on 3 for 2, when I bought it.

04) Autumn
I'm so happy. It's officially autumn. It's gone colder. Halloween is slowly approaching. It fills me with more joy than I can express. Pinterest is one of my go-to places to get into the Autumnal spirit - link to my Autumn & Fall board (here). As well as YouTube videos. Some of my favourite YouTubes for Autumn content are Anastasjia Louise, Neutral Fleur, one of my favourite YouTubes in general: Megan Rhiannon, and Simply Kenna who I've only recently discovered but I went back and watched her past Autumn/Halloween videos!

05) ASDA Home - Bedding
I went onto ASDA's Home website on a whim, and browsed through their early Autumn/Christmas bedding - just to see what was around - and I found this beautiful bedding for £14.00!! £14 for a king size bedding set (here). You cannot go wrong. It's just the right mix of autumn and cosy, but you could use it all year round. Did I also mention that it is reversible?

What have you been enjoying this month?

Autumn Goals

I do try to write New Years Resolutions at the start of the year, but I didn't this year. It'll be random goals, like cleaning my room regularly, learning something new, etc. To try and the year on a high, I'm setting myself ten goals to work towards before the end of the year.

01) Pass my driving test - I may or may not have sat my first driving test when you're reading this post, but on 13th September I'm going to try and pass my driving test. If I don't pass, I'm going to be hopeful and book another one straight after. Keep every limb crossed for me, if I haven't passed yet!

02) Capsule Wardrobe - I've put EVERYTHING (minus extremely thick jumpers and shorts) in my wardrobe to see what I do or, more importantly, what I do not wear. Whatever I don't wear after September, I'll be selling on Depop or giving to charity. I used to be really good at keeping my wardrobe streamlined, but this past year I've let it go.

03) Read - I'm going back to uni. I'm going to forget to pick up a book. I'm hoping audiobooks will save me from a reading slump though.

04) Dissertation - I'm handing in just after Christmas. I'm going to be amazed if I manage to write one.

05) Strong and Stable Job - I'm looking for a job closer to home, I've got a couple lined up - fingers crossed I find a job that I can stay in after uni!

06) Enjoy Autumn! - Autumn is my favourite month. But I ALWAYS wish it a way too quickly, because I love Christmas too much. This year, I'm putting Christmas on hold, and I'm going to enjoy Autumn!

07) Go into uni EVERY scheduled day - I'm awful at cancelling tutorials when I have a cold or feel slightly under the weather, this year, I'm going to try and go in every-single-day!

08) Get another piercing - I've been meaning to all year. I keep meaning to book in another tattoo too, but I'm also sh*t at saving money.

09) Stick to my bullet journal - I've kept one, on and off, for the past couple of year. But this time I'm committing to mine (here), until at least 2018!

10) Relaunch my photography website (www.kayleighbicklephotography.com) - I took it down over summer to work on a redesign, but I'm yet to go live again.

Do you have any goals for Autumn?

Bullet Journal: September Set Up

New Month. New Bujo set up.

It's a new month, I'm starting my final year at uni, and I'm starting my first EVER Leuchtturm 1917 bujo. The excitement is very real. I ordered on Prime so I didn't have to watch the tracking app for days on end, waiting for my new journal.
I went for the Leuchtturm 1917 Medium Squared Hardcover Notebook in Anthracite - Grey - (here).

My Tools:
20cm Ruler from WHSmith (here)
Zebra Z-Grip Medium Black Ballpoint Pen (here)
Mustard/Yellow Mildliner (here)
Pilot V5 HI-TECPOINT 0.5 Black Pen (here)
Staedtler HB Pencil (here)
Tipp-Ex Mini Shake'n Squeeze White Correction Pen (here)
WHSmith Rubber (here)

Month on Two-Pages
I find this spread SO useful. I have done the list format before, where you write the days down the side of the page, but I find the grid method much easier to visualise my month via.

Habit Tracker | Outfits
Habit Tracker; some of the habits I write are unnecessary but it feels good to have something ticked off early in the day. I'm yet to add more to this list, but I struggled to think of any that would be helpful for September - any ideas?
Outfits; I'm trying to wear more of my clothes. So every day I write a short log of what I wore and at the end of the month, I can see what I haven't worn from my wardrobe.

Blog | Instagram
Blog; purely so I can see my plans for this month and next months blog posts. I was originally going to go down to one post per week - when I went back to uni. But I might go down to one post a week in October instead.
Instagram; The calendar is so that I can mark off the days I upload. And then below I have a check-list for INSERT NAME's Instagram challenge that she does at the start of every month.

Budget Spread on Two-Pages
Budget; I try these every few months. Struggle to remember what I've bought and give-up. But I'm going to *try* again!

Week on Two-Pages
This is my basic weekly layout. I've only shown one week because I do the same layout every week. I prefer a week over two pages because it gives me enough room to write my daily to-do lists. On the side panel, I write any work shifts, appointments, etc.

For each month I have a colour throughout, for September I chose a mustard yellow - leading me into the wonderful season of Autumn!

I'm thinking about doing a similar post with my university related pages in my bullet journal in October, I don't go back to uni until the end of September - seems a little premature to write them yet! Let me know if you would be interested in that, or if you have any ideas for useful University related spreads.
