Although I started this book in January and have only just finished it, it's not a bad book!

"When I began writing this book, I went home to see if my mum had kept some of my stuff. What I found was that she hadn't kept some of it. She had kept all of it - every bus ticket, postcard, school report - from the moment I was born to the moment I finally had the confidence to turn around and say 'Why is our house full of this shit?' Sadly, a recycling 'incident' destroyed the bulk of this archive. This has meant two things: firstly, Dear Reader, you will never get to see countless drawings of wizards, read a poem about corn on the cob, or marvel at the kilos of brown flowers I so lovingly pressed as a child. Secondly, it's left me with no choice but to actually write this thing myself. This, my first ever book, will answer questions such as 'Is Mary Berry real?', 'Is it true you wear a surgical truss?' and 'Is a non-spherically symmetric gravitational pull from outside the observable universe responsible for some of the observed motion of large objects such as galactic clusters in the universe?' Most of this book is true. I have, of course, amplified my more positive characteristics in an effort to make you like me."

Review:
Sue Perkins (one-half of the duo 'Mel & Sue') autobiography was/is hilarious! Biographies aren't my favourite. I've tried many times to read Anne Franks, which has led to me being turned away from (auto)biographies since. Full of anecdotes about her family, friends, solo adventures and dogs.
Perkins first book made me cry with laughter and shed a tear for the sake of our beloved pets. Keeping jokes running throughout, Perkins has allowed the reader to feel as though they're living her life alongside her.
Talking about the obvious The Great British Bake Off and the duo Mel & Sue. But also, discussing what could be perceived as lows in her life and acknowledging the highs too.
She wrote beautifully about her father and her pets. I was able to read this book through her voice with ease, she stayed true to herself and the book felt natural.
I'll admit the last 100 pages, bored me. They were discussing a couple of shows she created after initially filming the bake off. They were very long-winded and some didn't seem to have a point to them. She lost the momentum that she had created. The book ended a bit shoddy. It just finished an anecdote that I wasn't enjoying and went onto her thanks. That's the reason I gave it three stars. I initially took a star off because it's not in my top reads, and then another for the ending.
I would recommend reading this book if you're a fan of Sue Perkins. Otherwise, it'll be a little pointless to read about a woman's life.
